Case is home to Wednesday Monastics, a group following a neo-monastic worship schedule based at St. Alban's Episcopal Church. This weekly routine features a 9 a.m. service of joy, prayer, and communion, a 12:10 p.m. reading of sacred text and prayers for peace, a 6 p.m. common Agape meal, and a 9 p.m. neo-monastic prayer of celebration and worship through chant, poetry, and art.
Pastor Joe also leads a Wednesday mid-day prayer and spiritual hotspot entitled "Jesus, Java and Joe," held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the coffee shop in the Thwing Center. He usually stays in the area from noon to 6 p.m. for fellowship and guidance.
We celebrate the work of the Agape Community Garden Project @ St Alban in Cleveland Hts. and the Grace House Intentional Community - near W73rd - pray for us, as we continue to grow in community!
Neo-Monastic prayer is a contemplative offering of chant, music, prayer, and art - as a path to God
We meet at:
St. Alban Episcopal Church
2555 Euclid Heights Boulevard
Cleveland, OH 44106-2799
Musician Jim Bockhoff is Director of the Neo-Monastic Music Ensemble. He specializes in Gregorian Chant and Renaissance Polyphony. His vision for this emsemble is "Poly-Artistry," the blending of many artistic, musical, and mystical forms into one prayer service that radiates - and makes accessible for all participants - the power and beauty of Gregorian Chant. In this way, the Prayers of the Church become a new and engaging experience for all.
Join us for an evening of "Safe Zone Training" as Agape joins with the LGBT Center @ Case Western to be an allied community.
